2012

In celebration of the Jungfrau railway centennial, on April 2012 a 250m-length visitor‘s tunnel was opened at some 3‘500m altitude. This Experience Round Tour uses separate images, light and music to narrate the present and past of tourism within the region as well as the immense effort used to construct the Jungfrau railway.

For Klangerfinder, the huge dramaturgical and compositional challenge consisted in creating a unique, intense sound environment for every individual „room“ of the Experience Round Tour while developing intelligent acoustical transitions within its open architecture.

In collaboration with Swiss musicians, regional instruments such as traditional alphorn and schwyzerörgeli were recorded to closely integrate regional culture into this sound installation.

For an audiovisual 360°-staging experience in the Jungfraujoch tunnel Hall of Sphinxes, Klangerfinder created the orchestral film music. Through immense film shoots done by means of 360° camera technique especially developed for this project, visitors are confronted with the overwhelming, audiovisual fascination of the Alps.
